fire engine on rickety floors.

vivian:
i don’t remember this entire dream, so i will just list the bits and pieces i remember. i remember holding hands with jake [r] and maybe danny [r], but i’m not sure as to the reasoning for those actions.

fast-forward. we’re headed somewhere. i’d guess we were running away from something, but i don’t think i feel that kind of pressure, even though i am driving fast in small spaces. i’m driving a fire engine, and it’s not the easiest thing to wield. i’m heading down this pretty narrow corridor with a tall-ish building on the right and a ledge with a drop down a hill to the front. i make a really sharp 90 degree turn to the right, and i slow down a little bit, but not all that significantly. a slight moment of fear crosses my mind — and i’m sure the minds of the people i’m in the car with — but because it’s so inconsequential (we’re alive), all is well. we continue and i find that once i turn the corner, we’re on kind of rickety ground. only… it seems really rickety, but in actuality, it’s not all that rickety. in fact, i stop the fire engine near-ish the corner we had just turned because i’m a bit scared of how fragile the floor is (i think i even reverse the fire engine to get it there), but later someone else takes over on driving and drives the fire engine closer to the top of the stairs. the ground is perfectly sturdy, even with the fire engine on it and four of us (or so). there’s at least one floor below us — maybe more.

some more happens beyond that, but it rather slips my mind.

interpretation for “holding hands”:
[1] “To dream that you are holding hands with someone, represent love, affection and your connection with that person. Your dream may also reflect anxieties about losing touch with him/her or that you are drifting apart.”

interpretation for “fire engine”:
[1] “To see a fire engine in your dream, suggests that you are tending to the needs of others and overlooking your own needs. You worry and stress out in situations that are beyond your control. Stop trying to be in the middle of things and stop trying to fix things. Trust that things will work itself out in the end. Use more discretion.”
[2] “A fire engine is extreamly positive and shows luck is coming your way. If you saw the fire engine returning from the fire then you are going to be disappointed with a salary rise or an amount of money given to you – in the near future. If you are travelling in the fire engine then you will have to be more protective over somebody in the future.”

interpretation for floors:
“To see the floor in your dream, represents your support system and sense of security. It may also symbolize the division between the unconscious and conscious. To see a polished, wooden floor in your dream, indicates that you are fully aware of your unconscious and keeping it suppressed. Consider the condition of the floor for further analysis. To see a slanted floor in your dream, foretells that you are deviating too far from your original plans and goals.”

interpretation for buildings:
“Buildings in dreams represent the constructions we make in our lives. They are attitudes and beliefs we have built from our experience, perception and often from our family habits and customs. From a spiritual perspective, buildings in dreams allow us to see clearly the constructs we put in place to keep us safe. The features of the building often mirror aspects of the dreamer’s personality or what is going on on a mundane level. Sometimes buildings in dreams can become composite and, therefore, confusing. In understanding the dream we should interpret the main appearance of the building first, as its main function, and the secondary appearance as qualities to be recognized. As well as buildings themselves, the various components also have a great deal of relevance in dreams.”

interpretation for stairs:
“Stairs are often an indication of the steps we must take in order to achieve a goal. Climbing the stairs is indicative of the effort that we must make in order to have access to the more mystical, spiritual side of our being. More simply, it is the exertion we practise in our everyday life – the effort to be ourselves. Conversely, in order to have access to the hidden, unconscious side of ourselves, we need to ‘go downstairs’ into the unconscious.”

assessment of interpretation:
the solid floor makes me happy, as does the positive image for a fire truck. generally, all of these dreams seem to be pointing towards positive change in the future, and that rather rules! i’m not sure what kinda positivity they’re talking about, but i’m hopeful.
